Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 14, 2026
1. Introduction
SaveVDO (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates www.savevdo.com (the “Service”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and to being transparent about the limited data processing that occurs when you use our Service. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected (both by us and by third-party tools we use), why it is collected, and what choices you have.
By using the Service you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, please discontinue use of the Service.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
SaveVDO does not require account creation. We do not collect, store, or process your name, email address, phone number, payment details, or any other directly identifying personal information. The URLs you paste into the downloader are forwarded in real time to third-party extraction APIs solely to retrieve download links; we do not persist those URLs in any database under our control.
3. Local Storage (Download History)
Your download history is saved in your browser's localStorage. This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. You can view and clear this history at any time from the History page, or by clearing your browser's site data via your browser's settings.
Lawful basis (GDPR): Legitimate interest — providing you with a convenient record of past downloads without any server-side storage.
4. Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) provided by Google LLC to understand aggregate, anonymised usage patterns — such as which pages are visited most often, how users navigate the site, and what device types are used. GA4 does not collect your name or email address.
Data collected by GA4 includes:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Referring URL and search terms (if applicable)
- Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution
- Approximate geographic location (country / city level; IP address is anonymised before storage)
GA4 sets first-party cookies prefixed _ga and _ga_* that persist for up to 2 years. Google's processing of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Lawful basis (GDPR): Legitimate interest — understanding aggregate usage to improve the Service.
Opt-out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent GA4 from collecting data about your visits across all websites.
5. Google AdSense & Advertising Cookies
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the Service. Google AdSense and its advertising network partners use cookies — including the DoubleClick cookies (__gads, __gpi) — to serve advertisements that may be personalised based on your interests derived from your browsing behaviour on this and other websites.
These cookies allow Google and its partners to:
- Display interest-based (personalised) advertisements
- Limit the number of times you see the same advertisement
- Measure advertising effectiveness and prevent fraudulent clicks
Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by the Google Advertising Policies.
Lawful basis (GDPR): Consent (where required) or Legitimate interest — funding the free Service through non-intrusive advertising.
Opt-out of personalised ads: Visit Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. You will still see non-personalised ads after opting out.
6. Third-Party Extraction APIs
To retrieve download links, we forward the URL you provide to third-party video extraction APIs accessed via RapidAPI. These providers may log your IP address for rate-limiting, abuse prevention, and security purposes, in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not share any other information with these providers, and we do not store the URLs you submit.
7. Cookies Summary
| Cookie / Storage | Set by | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique users | 2 years |
_ga_* | Google Analytics | Session persistence for GA4 | 2 years |
__gads | Google AdSense | Ad personalisation & frequency capping | 13 months |
__gpi | Google AdSense | Ad personalisation & anti-fraud | 13 months |
| localStorage | SaveVDO | Download history (device-local only, never transmitted) | Until cleared by user |
8. Data Retention
Because SaveVDO does not collect personal data on its own servers, there is no server-side retention period to declare. Analytics data retained by Google is subject to Google's standard retention settings (default 14 months for GA4 event data). Your local download history is retained until you clear it.
9. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Access & Portability — request a copy of personal data held about you.
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure (“right to be forgotten”) — request deletion of your data.
- Restrict Processing — request that we limit processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Opt-out of Sale (CCPA) — California residents may opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal data.
- Withdraw Consent — opt out of analytics and advertising cookies at any time using the links in Sections 4 and 5.
Because SaveVDO does not collect personal data directly, most of these rights apply to data held by Google. You can exercise them via your Google Account privacy settings or by contacting us at support@savevdo.com and we will assist you in directing your request appropriately.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
11. International Data Transfers
Data collected by Google Analytics and Google AdSense may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where Google operates. Google participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and employs Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the European Economic Area. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, or our data practices. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
13. Contact Us
