About SaveVDO

SaveVDO was built out of a simple frustration: there was no clean, ad-free, trustworthy tool for saving public social media videos. So we built one.

Our Mission

Public video content should be accessible to the people who discovered it. Whether you want to back up your own Instagram Reels, save a Twitter/X clip before it gets deleted, or download a TikTok for offline viewing during a flight — you should be able to do that quickly and safely.

SaveVDO exists to make that possible without tracking you, charging you, or cluttering your browser with extensions.

We support Instagram, Facebook, Twitter / X, TikTok, YouTube, and more — all from a single input field. Paste a link, get your video. That's it.

How SaveVDO Works

When you paste a social media URL into SaveVDO, our server sends a request to a third-party media extraction API. That API reads the public metadata of the post and returns the direct media URLs hosted on the platform's own CDN. We then display those links for you to download.

No video is ever uploaded to or stored on SaveVDO's servers. Your download is a direct file transfer between your device and the platform's CDN. We simply act as the lookup layer.

Your download history is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. It never leaves your device.
